Mary Jean Canziani holds a BFA from Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY with a concentration in Printmaking. She has taken post graduate courses in studio art at several art institutions and has continued developing her skill set through her career pursuits. Her first professional experience was in visual merchandising, creating interior and window displays for major department stores and boutiques in New Jersey and NYC. Working in this field cultivated a keen design sense and an ability to work in 3-dimensional design on a large scale. Ms. Canziani’s next career step was owning “Arts for the Home”, a decorative painting business, executing a myriad of faux finishing techniques, murals and specialty plaster applications for residential and commercial clients. Completing these projects increased her repertoire of capabilities, resulting in a valuable storehouse of creative experience to call upon.

She returned to her personal art practice in 2010 and began exhibiting her work. Having the good fortune to live in close proximity to NYC, Ms.Canziani frequently attends museums and galleries for inspiration and to increase her extensive knowledge of art history. Her pieces are in collections in the U.S., Germany, Italy, France and Australia. Most recently Ms. Canziani has been calling upon her experience to teach adult studio art classes. She continues to add to her own abilities by instructing as well as learning from her students.
